Storage Capacity: 640Ampere hours (Ah). Dakota Lithium batteries provide consistent power for all 640 Amp hours. DL LiFePO4 batteries have a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. The power output will not dramatically drop like similar sized SLA batteries. You get all the juice down to the last drop.
Cold Cranking Amps: 1,000 CCA is adequate to start most boat and large vehicle engines
Energy: 7680Wh
Voltage: 12.8 Volts (Dakota Lithium 12V batteries can be used in series for up to 48V systems)
Size: 27"L x 8.07"W x 10.43"H (686mm ×205mm × 265mm). Height is to the top of the terminals.
Weight: 121 lbs (55Kg)
Lifespan/Lifecycles: Up to 80% capacity for 5,000 cycles in recommended conditions, 70% capacity at 5,000 recharge cycles. Half-life (50% capacity) of 6,000 - 7,000 re-charge cycles (Typical SLA has 500 cycles). Backed up by an 11 year warranty.
Discharge: 300A max continuous, 600A max 20-second pulse, 900A max 5-sec CCA pulse. LiFePO4 chemistry has a flat voltage curve, meaning this battery will maintain a voltage of >12V for the full discharge cycle in most applications.
Charge: 100 A standard charge, 300A max charge current for 60 sec. Included is a LiFePO4 compatible charger. A SLA charger may work, but will reduce performance and lifespan of the battery. Even heat technology allows for charging below 32'F. Internal even-heat technology allows for charging below 0°C/32°F
Operating temperature: Ideal for rugged & harsh environments. Much better than SLA or other lithium batteries. -20°F min, +150°F max optimal operating temps (battery performs well down to -20°F). Internal even-heat technology allows for charging below 32°F. BMS high temp cut off at 167°F / 75°C..
INTERNAL EVEN-HEAT TECHNOLOGY: Increases performance in extreme cold. When charging the battery in temperatures below 0°C/32°F DL's internal heating element will warm the cells to 0°C/32°F. This increases the lifespan, performance, and efficiency of the battery.
Safe & Reliable: Includes active BMS protection circuit that handles cell balancing, low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection and high temperature protection for increased performance and longer life
Terminals and Posts: M10 Terminals with marine & automotive grade terminal covers.
Marine Grade & Waterproof: Max IP65 water resistance rating. Appropriate for marine environments, not submersible.
Certifications: Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 and UN 38.3 standards. They meet all US and international regulations for air, ground, and train transport.
ISO 9001:2015: Dakota Lithium is certified by ISO 9001:2015 for lithium battery engineering, manufacturing, and quality control. This means that the battery systems available at Dakota Lithium are designed and manufactured to the highest ISO 9001:2015 engineering standards. In addition, quality control is completed by our US based engineering team and follows ISO 9001 standards. This added layer of safety, quality, and reliability ensures that your battery will last a long, long time.
Free LiFePO4 Charger Included: 12V 50A charger included ($299 value). Dakota Lithium 12V batteries should be charged at 14.4 volts. Lead acid chargers will work, but will only charge the battery to 80% of capacity.
CAN bus: CAN bus communication port for connecting to marine, off grid, and automotive electronics. 9 pin CAN plug with hardware included.
On/Off control of battery terminals via external data port: Control the terminals of your pack externally, or remotely. Two analog control pins allow you to connect either or both to a (third) power pin to disable charging or discharging. Independent Charge/Discharge shut offs can be triggered by an external switch or logic controller. Shut off only the charging function, or only the discharging function, or both, and re-activate them at will. Useful in larger automated systems or local smart-grid projects.
Experience the Dakota Lithium Difference
The DL+ 12V 640Ah battery is built with Dakota Lithium's legendary LiFePO4 cells. 5,000+ recharge cycles (roughly 8-10 year lifespan at daily use) vs. 500 for other lithium batteries or lead acid.
